Notebook 25.0 SP1

Video & Image Search Add-ons

Important changes are coming to the Video Search and Image Web Search add-ons, due to Microsoft's decision to retire the Bing Search API.

Users can update to Notebook 25.0 SP1 (recommended). This release includes bug fixes as well as the new add-ons. It will be available both as a download and an over-the-air update.
- Notebook 25.0 SP1 will be available August 13th, 2025.

Users running Notebook 17.0 and above can expect a silent, automatic upgrade to the new Image Web Search and Video Search add-ons within 7 days of their release.
- This automatic upgrade was released August 12th,2025.

Note: This release also includes important changes to video and image search, due to Microsoft's decision to retire the Bing Search API.

Update -- As of September 9th, 2025: Video search services are now live in iQ 4.6, iQ 3.16 SP3, and Notebook 25.0 SP1.

Additional enhancements to Video and Image search—focused on improving language support and search relevance—are planned for future releases.

Note: When creating or editing an Activity with versions of Notebook older than 25.0 SP1, the Activities image search feature will stop working (after Microsoft retires the API). You can upgrade to 25.0 SP1 to resolve this. If you are unable to upgrade, you can still insert images from your local file system in all of the places where Activities offers an online image search. For example, you can use your web browser to download an image to your computer, and then select that image when creating or editing Activities.
